LACHEL FELICE & Associates, Inc. (LF&A) is seeking candidates to fill three National Director key management positions reporting to the President in the following functional areas:
- Tunnels & Underground Construction (no specific geographic location)
- Geotechnical Design Services (no specific geographic location)
- Federal Programs (position located in Washington DC )
These are new positions within the firm that have been created as a result of our growth spawned by increasing needs to serve current clients and increasing opportunities to expand the firm in each of these functional areas. Individuals are sought with nationally recognized technical credentials and demonstrated leadership expereince. Under the guidance of the Corporate office, each National Director as part of the management team will work closely with the Technical Director of the functional area to implement our firm-wide strategy and build the business area. To maintain working relationships across functional areas, a full matrix approach will be stressed for the best staff utilization to meet client and project demands. In addition to the assigned leadership responsibilities, each National Director will be required to maintain a chargeable direct billing utilization and a performance target for annual revenue generation. Specific qualifications are as follows.
Education : Masters degree in civil engineering or technically related area and MBA or advanced professional development education in business management.
Leadership : As a key member of the Corporate management team participating in decisions affecting firm-wide operational issues, National Directors will provide leadership and vision in support of and the implementation of actions contributing to the firms growth and profitability. Key factors are the ability to inspire the staff by sustaining a participatory work environment, mentoring individuals, and creating opportunities for professional development. Staffing responsibilities will require coordinating with other National Directors in hiring the right people and implementing a matrix approach to project staffing between the functional areas. Each National Director will be responsible for effectively dealing with employee relations issues by setting clear expectations and holding individuals responsible for meeting those expectations. In addition, each National Director will be expected to build and nurture relationships with existing and prospective clients, teaming partners and the business community. Operational responsibilities will include the day-to-day management of the functional business area to include meeting financial goals and objectives, staff utilization, maintaining a work backlog and budgeting.
Business development and marketing : Each National Director is expected to be an expert in their respective functional areas and knowledgeable of the firms capabilities in providing and delivering technical services to our clients. There is an expectation that each National Director will have an in-place network of public agencies, private sector companies, and other professionals that require the services of LF&A. In cultivating existing clients and developing new market opportunities, coordination will be required with the Corporate office and other National Directors in sales activities, program planning and budget estimates, along with proposal preparation and participation on interview presentations.
Client service : Each National Director will be responsible for maintaining, fostering, and developing strong client relationships. A key client contact program is essential along with active project oversight that will assure consistent quality work that meets and exceeds client's expectations.
Project management : Each National Director is expected to have a demonstrated record of successfully managing projects over $500,000, meeting schedule and budget targets as well as on-time submission of deliverables. Projects are to be multi-disciplinary and include the management of subconsultants within established scope and budget estimates. A thorough understanding of contract terms and conditions is expected as well as an understanding of risk management practices as they apply firm-wide and to individual projects.
